You are What You Eat

Since I have been home for the last few days, I have watched almost every program on BBC Lifestyle and that includes You are What You Eat. I must thank that show because I have lessened my food intake (especially carbs) after watching it. Even if my hubby's pasta is so yummy, I have to politely decline and eat a little less than usual. I've also bought more veggies and fruits from the groceries downstairs and willfully avoid passing by McDonalds. If you haven't watched this program, Gillian McKeith adopts unfit people into her home and helps them lose weight by analyzing their lifestyle and recommending the proper food. That also means confiscating any junk food and believe it or not, observing their poo. Yuck!

As for my baby, since she has my family's genes (that means being prone to diabetes and hypertension) we've decided to watch my baby's diet in her behalf. Breakfast for her means Weetabix plus fruit. Her pasta and rice are preferably brown. And, she loves loves loves her Baby Yoplait! As soon as she sees her yoghurt on the table, she gets excited and forgets about the main course. It's funny cause I never liked yoghurt. I guess the little Swiss Miss is coming out. That also explains her love for cheese, especially Gruyere. Fattening! Definitely a no to swiss chocolates though, not til she is at least two! Will just have to see how long she can keep this diet...
