Are You Into Orgies (Organics?)

I'm just astounded with all the organic stuff coming out now, organic food, organic clothes, organic beauty skin care. Sometimes it just makes you think what does organic really mean now? Is it just a trend?

My cousin-in-law just told me about Messy Bessy, a product line of non-toxic household cleaners made in the Philippines. That is a neat idea! My daughter who is walking all around the house now, just loves nibbling on the table, chair, bookshelf, crib, etc. and if it is cleaned with Pledge and all that crap, that goes into her mouth! If you want to test Messy Bessy's products first, you can start off with the Little Warrior which is a hand sanitizer, disinfectant spray and surface cleaner all- in- one.

When I am lazy to cook fresh baby food or when we are traveling with baby, I pack some Healthy Times organic baby food for my daughter. I get them at City Super for HKD15- 18 per pot. Her favorite is the Aloha Mango Chicken and Kiwi Strawberry. In Manila, they are also available at Healthy Options. There are other brands like Hipp, Gerber and Earth's Best available at Bumps to Babes.

For clothing, there are some organic onesies at Marks and Spencer. A colleague of mine got me some when I was pregnant with baby and they were really good quality. H&M also has an organic line and the price is definitely affordable. There are also tons of other brands in Bumps to Babes (don't you love it? they have everything!).

California Baby Products are free from allergens and their packaging is pthlhalate- free. Even if it is a lot more expensive than Johnson and Johnson, it is definitely safer for baby. California Baby is for sale at Rustan's, Beauty Bar, Manila Polo Club, Big & Small Co. in Manila. For those living in Hong Kong, please contact me for orders.

Now, I won't go as far as using eco- friendly diapers. There are nice-looking ones and look pretty comfy too but unfortunately, we do not have space to air dry them in Hong Kong and I don't have a nanny at the moment. For those who have that luxury, you might want to try Kushies.

I don't want to pretend that I know much about organic stuff, so if you would like to be more environment-friendly, especially now that you have a baby, check out Natural Baby Blog for more information on what ingredients to stay away from or what you can do to help save Mother Earth.
