Hip Hip Hooray!

One of my fave designers (and former boss) Cynthia Rowley is designing a new babies line for Babies R Us. Her collection is actually called Hooray! She must be making a lot of money these days creating lines for mass brands like Target and Toys R Us. Oh well, who wants to pay for expensive stuff nowadays? Especially for kids who grow out of their clothes in just two months. (A few days ago, the nanny told me that my daughter's shoes don't fit anymore. How can that happen when she only wore them thrice. Shucks!)




I just love these retail magnates and designer collaborations, perfect for the budget fashionistas like me! I can't wait for Stella Mccartney to launch her new babies line for Gap. Hmm... I wonder when Alexander McQueen will design for H&M! That will be the day...

Pretty in Phillip (Lim)

My fave designer at the moment is Phillip Lim. Nope, not that I am turning Chinese after living in Hong Kong for a while now. I just love his stuff as they are quite a bit bold and sees no boundaries. His pieces are fun and adventurous but not as awkward as that of Vivienne Westwood. There is still a certain sophistication and sassiness in his stuff. Gosh, what would I do for a shopping spree of his collection.

What's great is he does not only have great clothes for women, but has quite a few stylish pieces for baby too. The kid that wears Phillip Lim, is a true-blooeded fashionista. I would love my daughter to get one of his coats, but at US$375, umm maybe I can buy it for her when she turns 18? Oh well, there's always Zara!

Pretty Young Things

I am sure you are sick of hearing anything that has to do with MJ now. But, I can't help but think about his songs since they play them in our office. I'm now suffering from LSS- last song syndrome. "PYT. Pretty young thing...ahhh!" Okay, I'll shut up now.

Totsnob just featured a couple of pretty young things as usual such as this lil polka dot dress by Il Gufo which is on sale now at Saks Fifth Avenue. I'm not exactly crazy about polka dots in general but my lil girl will definitely look cute in this. Sugar and spice and everything nice!



Oh Chloe! Why do they come up with such beautiful things? Some bags of theirs are to die for. And these lil ballerina shoes for baby are so adorable! I think my daughter would enjoy ballet as she loves dancing, just like her mother! I wish they had these shoes in my size too.



Speaking of beauty and youth, there are two young women who are hitting the spot for me. Nope, I am not turning lesbian but I am sure everyone agrees they are hot. Watch out Penelope Cruz and Scarlet Johansson, these girls are on their way to stardom.

Treasure Chest

Was looking for Tory Burch shoes online when I saw something for baby on their website. Cool, daughter can start wearing Tory's famous logos at a year old. How trendy!

Can't wait when she is old enough to wear Revas like her Mommy. Their smallest size is for a 3 year old, so she has 2 more years left before she can wear one. Nuninuninuninu! Okay, while I am waiting for her to fit in her shoes, Mom will just go shopping for herself then. That's right... I can actually invest in shoes for myself knowing that my daughter can wear them when she's older. Good idea!


Oh gosh, I found an excuse again for me to shop. "It's worth it because I can pass it on to my daughter..." "It has to last for about 20 years, I need something with good quality, i.e. expensive and branded" "I have to buy some nice bags my daughter can wear to work one day..." Saying that, I saw a couple of bags that I like. They would look good for me (and my daughter)

Rainbow Bright

Okay, I don't want my last post to be sad and depressing (on MJ's death). I want to shut my computer with some positive vibes, especially because it's a Friday! Yahoo...

There are a few things that make me happy (yes they all have something to do with shopping). One of which is color! I don't know if it has something to do about being from the Philippines but I love having color in my life, on my clothes, on my walls and simply everything around me. I've never been the black and white type of person, which explains my bold and colorful wardrobe. I used to love going to Kate Torralba's condo because of her dresses with lively prints, bright colors and wacky styles. Says so much about her personality, fun and quirky! Aww, I suddenly miss her and Manila...

Since I am not as thin as I was back then, I started splurging more on my daughter's clothes. Someone has to look good in the family you know, if not me, then at least my daughter! (of course both is also ideal) I just saw a dress worn by Suri and it was so cute and I know it would look good on my baby too.



I love the japanese prints on this dress and the lil bolero that goes with it (although it's too hot to wear that now). I checked the website where it came from and it's this brand called Noku. I swear how does Katie Holmes know about these brands? I am sure every designer is throwing stuff at her just for baby to wear. How I wish it was the same for me and my daughter! I know I mentioned in my former post that I don't want neither mine or my baby's life to be public but if that means shopping at Hermes regularly then I might just change my mind...



Going back to color, I know I like having this around me but not when it's on my baby's new shoes! Was so upset when I saw pink ink on her Pedipeds. Good thing, her shoe was black and patent so the ink is seen inside the shoe and not out. She is at the stage where she loves scribbling and playing with her markers too. Just have to make sure that they are washable (just tell me how the hell I'm supposed to wash baby's leather shoes, does not work). I found some cute washable markers from Crayola and fell in-love with them. I think this is a must-have for baby's who are showing some interest in art. They look like toys but they are actually markers. Lovely!



Gosh, these lil animals remind me of my pet, Kooka (I know, I know it's silly) but I need to shop for more furniture for her house and get her a new outfit. Join me at Pet Society (and earn me some points) so you know what I am talking about! Happy colorful Friday!

Mini Me

I'm so happy my daughter got a haircut (it's growing fast actually, she might need another one in a month's time). Now she looks great wearing dresses and it's more fun dressing her up. I'm so lucky my Mom and sister -in-law always sends her clothes from babyGap. I just love their stuff! In fact, this time I want a chambray dress and denim skirt from there.


Speaking of babyGap, news just came out that Stella Mccartney is designing their latest collection. I can't wait to see her designs for baby girls. And maybe she has some nice pieces for me too! Now, my daughter and I can wear clothes by the same designer. Oh no! I am turning into those "Stepford Wives" moms who wear the same clothes as their daughters'. I guess it would be nice to have the same dress (or two) but I think it would be too much if our whole wardrobe is identical.

My friend just told me about this brand in Manila, called Katricewear which sells matching clothes for mothers and daughters. (Wait a minute, isn't my friend single? Why is she shopping there?) Anyway, I just checked their mutiply site and some stuff are pretty cool...

The long chiffon dresses are perfect for summer but they are already sold out...

Hmm, isn't my friend coming again after two weeks? Or should I plan that trip to Manila again? My hair is definitely up for another rebond treatment. Maybe I should get the same haircut as my daughter's too. Not!

Paris on My Mind

Am so happy the rashguards my Mom sent finally arrived. Was too excited hubby and I brought her to the pool this afternoon. It was a bad idea though cause it started pouring as soon as we were in the pool. Saw baby shaking because it was too cold and had to go back home. There goes our holiday! Why is it raining like crazy when it's summer? Ugh!

Speaking of holidays, my hubby's designer flew to Cebu today for a weekend with the family. My hubby looked envious as he hasn't been to any of the beaches in the Philippines. How pathetic! He watched a show on BBC that featured Palawan and fell in-love with the beaches. We plan to go there for a short vacation this year. I should be fit by that time so I can get myself a nice bikini from Pucci or Missoni.

A friend is getting married in France this July and I might have to miss it (again)! Unfortunately, I have not been a fan of weddings. I missed the "big days" of most of my good friends. Sad, really, cause I am not there on their special day. I'm totally useless when it comes to these things. I would have loved to go to France though (can you believe I have never been?) but timing is really bad since I just started work. Hubby promised to bring me next year or when things are a bit more stable. Can't wait!

I'm looking forward to seeing Paris, Provence and the beautiful vineyards in Bordeaux and Champagne. My to- do- list in Paris includes eating in a Michelin star resto like Guy Savoy, visit the Louvre and of course shop at Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré and Avenue Montaigne in the 8th! Oooh! There are so many nice French brands for both mommy and baby, one I just read about is Vertbaudet which is the French version of H&M. Cheap and trendy, perfect for babies who grow out of their clothes so quickly.

Golden Girl

Hurray for payday! Hehe, I know it's still a week from now but am looking forward to another check so I can shop again. I've been pretty good lately. The only stuff I shopped for recently were presents for other people. Mom, godson, baby of a friend. I haven't even bought anything for my daughter (although she has a bunch of stuff coming from the US, yahoo!). See... I am improving! Okay, I did get a wallet for myself but it was on sale so it's not counted.

When I was looking for some cargo pants for my godson, I found a beautiful ensemble at Seed for my daughter. It was a kaftan with blue and gold embroidery that matched gold capris. How fashionable is that! But, gosh, the set is the same price as a Burberry dress. I had to shy away from it before I start taking out Mastercard.

Now that I am surfing online, I am seeing more and more metallic-colored clothes for baby. It does look very sophisticated. I think my daughter would look good in one of these from Little Catwalk and Milkshop...






If only she can wear jewelry that would match them... which reminds me, I wonder when's the best time I can pierce her ears. In Hong Kong, it's not a norm to pierce baby's ears at birth. Baby has some earrings from Tiffany & Co. that are waiting for her. Maybe I should do it soon... Ouch!

In the Navy

I've always loved the nautical look... sailor necklines, mini skirts, stripes and gold embellishments. I remember dressing up in a complete sailor outfit for our John Robert Powers fashion show (haha yes, I joined that modeling school when I was in high school, how embarassing).

I guess I still have not outgrown that style and am now officially passing on this look to my daughter. Was surfing for some clothes for her online and saw some dresses at Pottery Barn Kids. Me likey! They would look perfect on my baby, especially when she has bangs already. Can't wait to cut her hair! Of course, the look won't be complete without some Pediped shoes. I've been wanting to get her a navy or white pair of shoes. Good thing my brother and his family are still on vacation in San Francisco so he can bring me home some (hint! hint!) goodies for baby. Just hope he doesn't bring home any H1N1 virus too!

When shopping for clothes for my daughter, I can't help but like stuff that are for sale for older kids. I can't help but think... I want that skirt for her when she's a bit older. The dress would look good on her when she is three. Apparently, the stuff for toddlers are more fashionable than the cute onesies for infants. I'm wondering if other moms buy clothes for their kids in advance. I don't cause I'm just worried that I wouldn't like those clothes anymore by the time she can fit in them. I guess I just want to enjoy the moment... otherwise, it's like buying Christmas presents on June.

But, when I saw J.Crew's Crew Cuts, line for kids from 2-12. I wanted to get my hands on them ASAP. I just knew they would look good on my daughter. I have to stop myself before I end up buying her prom dress for her for when she turns eighteen. Good thing I am banned from using my credit card online... but then again, there's always mother to call and get them for me (Happy Mother's Day, Mom!)

Beach Babe

My daughter loves loves loves the beach (Wait til I bring her to Boracay!). When she wasn't walking yet, she loved picking up the sand and crawling around. Now that she is already a big baby (huhuhu), she is already making sandcastles with her daddy and friends.

Since summertime is here, she needs to get more swimsuits...gosh! she needs something again? I mentioned before that baby is not allowed to wear bikinis so I had to surf for some cute one-pieces, tankinis or rashgards.

I just read about a sale on Bonpoint's sale at Gilt Groupe this week. I never heard of this brand before but when I searched for it online, I was in-love! Tell me you aren't! The French has done it again... Bravo!
