Hobo Hopping

Okay, okay! I know I am supposed to be really happy with what my hubby gave me. I am! I still am! But I'm only human and I want more... Of course, I don't want my bag to get worn out and need something else to alternate it with. Also, it's a bit on the flashy and dressy side so it doesn't go well with t-shirt and jeans. I need a casual, slouchy neutral colored one...

My hubby said he doesn't want to hear me talking about another bag again and told me to wait a bit before I purchase another one. But, he agrees I shouldn't use the other one too much (at least we agree on something). He said at the end of the day, it's I can do whatever I want. It's up to me if I don't mind having a dent on our bank account because of all the things I want to buy. Great! He is using the guilt trip approach. I tell you it is not working...

The contenders for my next purchase include...

BV. I know everyone has this (especially in Hong Kong) but that's because the quality of this bag is just tremendous. The leather is so soft and yummy. I am liking it in Ash or Crimson.


Another Loewe. I know it's kinda stupid to have another bag with this huge padlock but it is exactly what I am looking for. Nice leather, slouchy shape and beige. I am officially addicted to Loewe (my hubby is too, he just bought luggage from them after he saw my bag, arent' we a couple?). I think it's too much to have another ostrich though like this Asian celebrity, she wears it so perfectly though.



Givenchy. I like the nightingale but have a problem with handheld bags plus the fact that everyone has it. It's actually an impractical bag so I prefer the Sacca. There is one that just came out in faux crocodile and looks really nice. It's in black though but tell me of any woman who is complaining that she has too many black bags (no such thing!)



What a dilemma! I better work harder on my next project so I can get another bag fast. I want all...

Loewe and Behold

Yipee! Hurray! Yahoo! Applause! Clap Clap! Can you tell I am happy? That's because I went to the Loewe Press Sale and got myself a present from hubby. Can't believe it's at 95% off! That's a no brainer! Poor lil bird that was killed for it though. Oh well, at least she made me happy, so it's for a good cause.

Tired of having nipples out, especially when going for a swim? Best for breastfeeding moms whose nipples have been stretched and chewed out by babies. Eeeks! Why not put on these cute stars underneath your bikini so hubby can go stargazing (wink)!

Soft Spot for Sofia

I was rushing from one meeting to the other in Peking Road yesterday when I couldn't help but pop by the LV Flagship store in Tsimshatsui. It looked like a marketplace! And you tell me that people are spending less nowadays? Not in Louis Vuitton's world. It's amazing how this brand has transformed from luggage/bags to a whole lifestyle.

I once succumbed to this craze and got myself a nice Damier Trevi, it came with a hefty credit card bill too! Waah! But, after I've gone loco seeing their logos all around town, I thought I'd give it up and go for something less flashy and pretentious.

Not everyone thinks like me though, having seeing the customers go crazy at the LV store. I guess there is something addicting about it. Some girls pull off the Neverfull or Speedy bag better than others, I admire those women who don't look cheap inspite of all those screaming logos.

While I was observing the customers in the store, I happened to find an LV bag that I want. Uh oh! Maybe there is some sort of magic in the store that woos you to buy LV! I looked closer and these bags are of good quality, nice leather and totally classic. And they are made by Francis Ford... no Sofia Coppola! Alas she is suddenly a designer... (like she needs to make more money and being an award-winning director/actress is not enough.)





Oh well, I love her stuff anyway! But, it doesn't take a genius to think of this one... let me grab a pen and draw my own bag. I might be famous one day...

Career Move

I'll be busy with presentations the whole week as we are launching a new magazine. Since most of the accounts I handle (as usual) are fashion and watch brands, I need to shop for more clothes. Believe me, in my job, I have to sell myself first before the magazine I represent (nope I am not talking about prostitution).

Great, I found another excuse why I need to shop for clothes. And since I would most probably be attending functions as well, I can get away with some dresses that are not exactly so corporate-looking. One of which is the launch of Mastercard Luxury Fashion Week and the showing of documentary, "The September Issue," with Anna Wintour. Can't wait!


Maybe I should go back to BCBG and get one of their dresses on sale...

Goes well with the Aidan MJ by MJ bag but that means I have to buy the bag too...


Umm, maybe I need a waist first before getting this...

Pretty in Phillip (Lim)

My fave designer at the moment is Phillip Lim. Nope, not that I am turning Chinese after living in Hong Kong for a while now. I just love his stuff as they are quite a bit bold and sees no boundaries. His pieces are fun and adventurous but not as awkward as that of Vivienne Westwood. There is still a certain sophistication and sassiness in his stuff. Gosh, what would I do for a shopping spree of his collection.

What's great is he does not only have great clothes for women, but has quite a few stylish pieces for baby too. The kid that wears Phillip Lim, is a true-blooeded fashionista. I would love my daughter to get one of his coats, but at US$375, umm maybe I can buy it for her when she turns 18? Oh well, there's always Zara!

Catch the Wave

Forgive me, Father for I have sinned. I passed by Lane Crawford today and saw two more bags that I like. I think that means my daughter would not go to school this year (kidding!). What the.... I am liking all the bags I see at the moment. There must be something wrong with me!

3.1. Philip Lim's inapinch is such a hottie! I know this bag is too trendy but it looks great for fall/winter. This bag is so me. Meaning the me before I became a mother! How I wish I can wear it with some platforms too!


Marni's Wave Bag. I'm not surprised why Julia Roberts is carrying this bag. It's a mix of contemporary design and a classic. It sort of reminds me of Miu Miu but not really.

Straight from the Shoulder

I know, I know this is a blog about babies and not bags but I just saw this bag and I think it's perfect for work, weekends (although I'm not sure about putting baby's things in there) and would look great with my (future) leather jacket. I say future cause my hubby has not given it to me yet but I know he will haha. I've seen the pics of all the cashmere sweaters from his collection and I think I don't have to worry about my winter wardrobe this year. I have all the reason to buy a nice bag for fall/winter then!

I'm not sure if this Chloe is for sale in Hong Kong but I hope it is. Too bad, Chloe is not sponsoring my next project (hmm... maybe I should contact them if I want a discount!) Speaking of projects, it seems that I have a lot of lined up in September. Please don't complain if you don't read many posts by that time because I will probably be dead tired. I will have to go to China (and possibly Macau) almost every weekend and about 4 events to organize that month. Good luck to me! Well if it means buying almost every bag I can post from all the commission I am gonna earn, then I'm all for it! Bring it on!

Woman in Chains

Due to popular demand of the Chanel 2.55 flap bag, it seems like every brand is making their own version. From Marc Jacobs, Anya Hindmarch, Lanvin to Fendi. Hmm... which is the closest replica? I vote Fendi! I think it's not bad actually. Hmm... another bag in my list. Can't wait to get one!

Mahogany Dreams

At the moment, I am lusting for the Chloe Ethel bag but it seems like my commission won't be released til after my next project. So, I'll have to wait and get a nice fall/winter bag til then (I am sure by that time, I want something else).



In the meantime, I can probably get myself a basic bag that's good for work, weekend, either summer, fall or winter. I think this bowling bag by Marc by Marc Jacobs is the answer to that.

Plastic Fantastic

I never thought that plastic shoes are actually comfy. The first time I tried them on was at Gucci and they felt so good. I didn't buy them since I was out of work then but continued trying on similar typed shoes. I wrote about the candy colored sandals by See by Chloes for summer in a former post and tried these plastic gladiators by Givenchy in Lane Crawford one time. Again, they were way past my budget (yes, that word exists in my vocabulary) so I had them only in my dreams.

Last week, I decided to go to Pedder Red after my friend told me about the crazy sale they have right now and found myself some rubber flats with a bow. They had it in fuschia and black and even if I felt like getting pink, I thought I should be safe and get the latter. Was too busy with work that I forgot to pass for them after having them reserved so thinking of doing that today.

I read a friend's blog today and she posted about Vivienne Westwood's bow flats for Melissa. That's right, Melissa is the brand that first started this trend (I think!). Check out the other styles she's got!

Loco for Coco

I finally got the chance to watch Coco Before Chanel last Friday. I fell in-love with Coco Chanel, Audrey Tautou (one of my favorite actresses) and of course the clothes. This gives me inspiration for my French- themed party this Thursday. Hmm... either I wear a black blazer or tweed jacket with a pearl necklace, a little black dress with a hat or a sexy corset with skirt. I gotta go and find an outfit soon! Stress!

Going back to the film, I was actually saddened by this story. Coco was an orphan who was on the quest for love and stability in her life. She made her way to be part of Paris's elite through the men she dated. At first, I thought she was a typical gold-digging whore but after watching the film, she was like every woman, beautiful and strong yet vulnerable and fragile. She ended up with a broken heart but made the most out of her life by creating a fashion empire. How inspiring!

Shake 'Em Booties

A friend of mine went to Central St. Martins in London to study shoe design. She moved back to the Philippines recently and is pregnant with her first child. She decided to pursue her passion, but this time making baby shoes. Awww, how sweet is that! I wish I can do the same for my daughter. Now, I'm excited to get booties for her. It makes more sense to get some this fall because she actually walks now, unlike last year.

A popular brand for booties is UGG, they seem to be everywhere now. I just got an email from Neiman Marcus announcing their new collection. In Hong Kong, teenage girls love them. The sad part is they wear them during summer. Eeks, they must have sweaty feet. That's more like UGH than UGG!

You Rock My World

I am so loving Botkier's new collection! I was already attracted to last season's zipped bags but when I saw this, I thought WOW! The glazed leather in burgundy looks reminds me of Balenciaga, while the tassels are similar to that of Rebecca Minkoff's. It's a good thing it's not available still or else I would have been tempted to purchase it online at Luna Boston.

There are so many bags this fall that rock my world! How I wish I can buy them all...

Lady In Red

Holiday's over! That was quick. One day is definitely not enough. I guess I should just be thankful I had a break in the middle of the week. I envy those who have gone on a long vacation though. Can't wait for me to go past probation so I can file for vacation leave. I guess I'll save those days for Christmas when my Mom comes over or for that trip to Palawan hubby and I have been planning for...

Okay, I should live in the moment and stop daydreaming about vacations. Work is good, busy but good! I am very happy with my job and the company I work for (I hope our editor in-chief is reading this so I earn some brownie points). And, of course, the thing I love the most about working is getting paid! It was payday 2 days ago and I already started shopping but more for casual and trendy stuff. What I would like to buy are more clothes, shoes and bags for work. Most of the stuff I have are not "formal" enough so I should definitely get a few of those killer outfits for presentations, meeting with VIPs and after work cocktails.

Let's start off with a really nice bag for work. I saw one at Prada (wherelse?) and fell-in love with this red tote! It's smaller than the one shown in the pic below. Too bad I cannot afford it, at least for now. Maybe when I get my commission? Hmm...



Now that Jimmy Choo is on sale (and my sister works for them in Manila) it is time to get myself a pair. Whether it be stilettos or flats, red is the way to go!



I never wore red lipstick but saw that they looked good on my friends. Hmm... not sure it would suit me but for those who dare, try it and it might just be your lucky charm. My cousin just told me she's got discount at MAC. Now, that's worth it!



And while you're at it, get some red lingerie too. Nothing beats feeling sexy inside and out! Since I am preparing for our French Boudoir party with a lingerie fashion show next week, I can suggest a couple of nice underwear to buy. Hmm.. I better book myself for a mani/pedi treatment at that new nail spa across our office during lunch time for some red nail action! They would compensate for that big bandage I am wearing on my foot for wearing the wrong pair of shoes the other day. Now, I can paint the town RED!

Four Seasons

I just love these pair of socks that look like shoes. One of my friends from New York sent them as a gift to my daughter and they looked so cute! My daughter always gets compliments when she wears them (plus points for her!). There are two leading brands that sell these kind of socks: Trumpette (which is what I got) and Jazzy Toes. I haven't tried the latter but I am sure they are just as soft. Get to choose from their many different designs... I think their Birks design for baby boys is just hilarious.



The sun is shining bright outside and it is getting more and more humid everyday but fall is slowly creeping up. Can you believe it's already July? Before you know it, winter is just around the corner. Gosh, I was just putting aside my daughter's old sweaters to give away. In a couple of months, I'll have to get her new ones. Oh boy! If I was still living in Manila, I didn't have to worry about the changing seasons.

The good part about the cold though, is getting dressed in a whole new getup. I'm pretty bad with dressing up for winter, only cause I don't really know how to wear scarves, layer clothes or walk in boots. I'm such a tropical girl by heart! But, after living shortly in New York, almost 4 years in Hong Kong now and traveling to Europe, I'm having a better winter fashion sense. It also helps that my hubby is Swiss and grew up with snow. I'm pretty excited cause he showed me some pics of the collection he is gonna launch this year. I guess that means free cashmere sweaters, leather jackets and fur coats for me. Now, I am looking forward to dressing up this fall/winter.

What gets me more excited are these socks from Miu Miu. Whoever thought that the best accessory would be a pair of socks. I guess times are changing. Would love to wear a mauve or black or dress to go with them and some pumps (hopefully my feet won't get hurt again). Can't wait to buy them!

Something Up Your Sleeve?

Have I told you about the day I hurt my back? I sprained it so bad just by carrying my Macbook (and my daughter at her Kindermusik class) one day that I was not able to work. I guess it also doesn't help that I have a bad posture, mild scoliosis and am always on the computer (my hubby is complaining all the time).

Now, there's the reason why there's such a thing as laptop bags! I didn't like the laptop bag provided by the office so I just placed the Mac inside my Longchamp bag. I guess it wasn't sturdy enough to carry something so heavy so it ended up hurting my shoulders and back. Ah, the woes of being fashionable and trendy, something always has to give (either our feet, back, or wallets!).

So, while surfing for bags (which is an everyday habit by the way), I chanced upon a laptop sleeve/bag that looks really cool and fashionable. It helps that it's also designed by favorite, Rebecca Minkoff. I love the ostrich skin material and the color is both great for spring and fall (I just hope it doesn't hurt my back again since the straps are thin) . Hmm, I just spoke to my Mom and aunts this morning and they are already planning their vacation in Hong Kong this December. Might be good to ask for them to buy this as a birthday present for moi (my birthday is in December)! Question is can my back wait for another 6 months? Oh well, there's always DHL!

The Color Purple

My friend is totally gonna hate me now. She emails me whenever I post bags on my blog because she ends up wanting one. There's only one reason why I do this, cause I want one myself. Where's my genie in a bottle? Don't think I can ask hubby to get me one on father's day! Hmph.

Seems like purple is the color for fall. Wait, wasn't it also the color last spring? Who cares, they match my daughter's crocs! These bags look yummy! Just make sure you don't wear purple clothes or else you'll end up looking like Grimace!
