Afternoon Delight

I decided to brave my way into Shamshuipo yesterday, due to of lack of better things to do. My friend recommended I check out that area for Powerpuff party favors for my daughter's first birthday. There's a whole street of goodies (sorry forgot the name!) and if you are looking for toys, it could be an interesting feat. The prices are cheaper (don't expect the stuff to be original) but I'd be wary of the actual toys especially for babies because of safety reasons. These stuff are probably overruns from factories that is why they are sold dirt cheap. Unfortunately, they didn't have any Powerpuff items (maybe it's not trendy anymore) so I am thinking of changing the theme... but if you are looking for Hannah Montana, High School Musical, Ben 10, etc. they have a lot of products to choose from. Reminds me actually of the Guangzhou market (yes, I've been there!) where they sell all these cheap toys. After a week of the shopping spree in China, my nephews' "transformers" were already in the bin.

Since there was nothing for baby and I was getting claustrophobic, I decided to go to somewhere more familiar, the mall! The nearest ones were Elements and Harbour City and I decided to go to the latter. I felt so much better after passing by Juicy Couture, etc. just scanning for clothes for baby to wear on her first birthday. I found some cute terry outfits but there was not a huge selection of stuff for baby. I saw some cute dummies though that would be great as a gift. Gosh! Whoever thought that there would be designer pacifiers around? Even Fendi has some cute ones! They also had these really gorgeous swimsuits for babies, checked the tag and they were made in the Philippines.

My next stop was City Super for baby's organic food. Tried another brand this time, Organic Baby, and she loved their bolognese pasta.

Since Page One was right beside the grocery, I went and looked for the Girlfriend's Guide to Toddler's but unfortunately, it was out of stock. At these times, I wish I was in the US where they had everything!

My afternoon was not as productive, no party favors, no clothes, no book! I think I should have just stayed home and shopped online! Oh well, it's still good exercise!
