Juicy Prams

One of my closest friends in Hong Kong is about to give birth and one of her dilemmas is what pram to get. When I was pregnant, my husband and I settled on a Quinny Buzz. Apart from it looking cool and sturdy, it is compatible with Maxi Cosi carseats which are highly recommended for babies. Unfortunately after a few months of using it, I learned that it was a bit of a pain to travel with since Hong Kong is not exactly a very baby- friendly place. Aisles in restaurants, groceries and some stores are not wide enough for a three-wheeler like the Quinny. And, if you use the MTR or bus as your mode of transportation, it is difficult to take apart the parts of the Quinny (frame and carseat) since it is not exactly lightweight. Don't get me wrong, the Quinny is a good pram, just not good for Hong Kong and my lifestyle.

So, I finally got a Maclaren. I love this pram even if it's not as pretty as other brands because it is so light, I can carry my baby, diaper bag and the pram in one hand. They have different styles and I got the Quest Sport in gray. Although if you are buying for a newborn, the Quest Sport is not the right one to get. They have a different model specially for newborns called the Maclaren Techno XLR. The wheels are bigger and is a bit heavier than the Quest Sport (but definitely not as bulky as the Quinny) and has four positions. The price is affordable and the style is not boring too. In fact, I love the coffee brown and pink combination, looks like bubblegum.

And if you are brand conscious and wouldn't settle for anything that is not trendy or stylish, Maclaren has tied up with Juicy Couture for their own design of the Maclaren. If Juicy Couture is not exactly your cup of tea, you can also check Kate Spade or Shanghai Tang for other prints. Of course, this is a bit more expensive than the regular Maclaren but definitely more eye-catching.
