I've been wanting to potty train my daughter a long time ago but wasn't sure if it was too early to do so. When I heard from my girlfriend that her baby (who is a month older than mine) has been potty trained since she was 7 months, I figured that now's the time!
There are tons of potty trainers out there and some can be too fancy, some with music and other paraphernalia. I'd like to keep it simple and just get the Baby Bjorn. Will let you know how it goes. Wish me luck!
Last week, I passed by Three Sixty at Elements and saw that they have so many eco-friendly products, which is a good thing! Saw this brand Ecostore that also sells laundry detergents, surface cleaners and baby care products that are eco-friendly! Plus they smell really good. Of course it is a bit pricey!
Also, there are cloth diapers being sold. I know I said that I would not go for cloth diapers but if we move to Manila or Switzerland and would have more space to hang our laundry, I think I will try it out. Also, if my daughter is potty trained then I only have to wash it because of no.1. The brand they are selling at ThreeSixty is FuzziBunz. I also want to try the BumGenius. What makes it attractive are the prints. Not bad!
Not only that, they are selling chlorine-free wipes and diapers too. Looks like so many people are trying to save Mother Earth nowadays. But, why do the stuff have to be more expensive if they are natural? I tell you what if you really want to save the earth, just use water to wipe your baby's bum.

haha karrie i agree just use water. :) you know my paedia (who i trust completely and has never failed me) didn't recommend early potty training. he says kids naman will eventually learn and starting so early is unnatural and you now what, there's a study that says kids who are trained early tend to regress more (... meaning later on they will start peeing on their pans, on your floor or on their bed, there by making it harder for you, even if it seems more convenient to let them start early. I was tempted too. I trained J at 2 1/2. It took me just under a month and he's been fine ever since. Or you could observe Alex if she seems ready naman then I guess it's ok, basta don't force lang baka matrauma.:) And i used cloth nappies for 4 mos in Manila, no rashes ever! :) but then easy there coz there's yaya to disinfect it all and lotsa sunshine to dry them:)- D.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment, D! I researched more about it and yes, you are right. It could be traumatizing if baby is forced into it. I don't know why I'm rushing. Perhaps it is more convenient for me than for baby. Im reading this book called Touchpoints and it is advising me to wait as well.
