The Balancing Act

I'm slowly easing into my new life as a working mom. The transition was perfect because I started working from home and then now am spending more time in the office. Good think, my hubby is around and my baby is having a great time playing with her. I guess it's time for father-daughter bonding!

I actually feel good that my life is back. I feel I am more in the loop of things now. I'm walking more (so more exercise for me). I love the fact that my office is near some really good restaurants (I am getting my daily dose of Thai, Korean and Japanese, yum!) My brain is working and I feel fulfilled. I am around more people during the day and learn something from them. Most importantly, I'm earning some cash.

There are of course disadvantages... I miss my baby from time to time. I am not able to teach her new things or see what are her latest developments. She is sleeping when I get home. And I don't get to nap when she is napping too. Like what they say, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

The most challenging dilemma of mothers, especially working mothers, is creating that balance between work and family. And for stay- at- home moms it's creating that balance between time family and self. There are no set rules or specific solutions, we just do our best...now, that I have tried both (working and not working), I say... whatever works... nothing is better than the other... as long as you're happy!
