I realized the difference between a working mom and a stay-at-home mom when I met someone last week. The latter does not have a business card! The usual practice in Hong Kong is people just hand out their namecards as soon as you are introduced (as if in a meeting). Don't be surprised if you get one while dancing in Drop, shopping at Ikea or having coffee at Pacific Coffee. I have not been working for 3 months now and subsequently, that means no card.
Isn't there a saying that a mom is a full-time job? Well, isn't there a salary for that? Good thing we don't have to pay taxes.
What if we meet other moms at the playground or salon? We'll have to write down our numbers on baby's extra diaper or look for that person we met in Facebook. Some smart mom thought of the Mommy Card.
How come the design looks better if there the mom has two kids? I only have one! What if we have ten children? Mommy to Adam, Brian, Carol, Dan, Emma, Frank, Gilda, Harry, Ingrid and Joanne. Hilarious!
I'd like to have a card though. Maybe I can put YummeeMommy as my title. Good idea! Does anyone want a card too? When someone asks you what you do for a living, you can answer I'm a YummeeMommy. Love it!
