Let's Drink to That
I need a SIGG! Was just browsing through a friend's pics on Facebook and saw her baby holding this thermos- looking cup. I was wondering how can she drink from that bottle. The prints look cute though and I thought... I want one for baby, not knowing what it was.
Landed on Totsnob's website and saw them feature the same bottle! Hmm.. I do have an eye for must-haves (pat myself on the back). Apparently, the SIGG is the new sippy cup for toddlers. Their editor recommends this for the following reasons:
BPA free
No leaching - lining is a water-based, non-toxic coating
No bacteria build up - which means, no stinky musty cups
Clean, neutral taste every time, even after milk or fruit juice
No valves and little parts
Does not leak - twist spout closes tight, safe enough to put in your precious bag
Easy to clean
Lightweight
Durable - will dent if thrown around but it does not affect the function
Perfect for lunches
Tots love them
Huge variety of cute designs
No wonder why Madonna and Cindy Crawford love them! I bought three different sippy cups for my daughter and they either leaked or collected germs on their valves. MAM, Tommy Tippee and Mothercare. All no good!
Since my daughter can hold her own bottle and is slowly learning to drink from a cup, this is my best option since it has a vacuum so that water doesn't drip out freely from the spout. Available in 0.3 and 0.6 liters. They are a bit pricey ($16.95 small and $19.99 for the bigger one) but it's worth a try. I wonder if they sell them here in Hong Kong... if not, good thing lil brother is still in the US. Perfect.
They are also selling SIGG for adults too, perfect for hiking, trip to the zoo or even just at work. Hmm, I remember the days when I would drink vodka from a thermos in school. Sneaky! Almost got kicked out of school for that. I am crossing my figners my daughter does not take after me or else I am in trouble...

Kars you can buy Sigg bottles at Ocean Terminal, there's a shoe store there, forget the name... behind the cashier are shelves lined with Sigg bottles. Smaller ones are HKD 150 ata I don;t remember. I've always wanted this for J, but since he's lost 3 bottles already I'm nasasayangan sa price. So I just buy Nalgene, a US brand that's also BPA free. Got mine from Shanghai Street in Yau Ma Tei there are camping and outdoor shops there, come to think of it, they might have cheaper Siggs too.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Dawn! I will check it out this weekend. One less thing to buy for me. My Mom has already a long list of things to buy for her grandchild haha. Ill check out Nalgene also. Wow, you even go to Yau Ma Tei!
ReplyDeleteKars di mukhang Sigg ang Nalgene ha, mukhang Columbia yun iba iba colors hahahaha, yun cheap lang sa Marathon Sports? Pero I dunno if Columbia is BPA free kasi tsaka HKD 35 lang, so I switched to Nalgene which is HKD 60. Maybe when J is bigger and can take care of his things more I'll get the Sigg. Want one for myslef din nga e. The shoe store is a kiddie one ha, sa floor near ItsmAgical...
ReplyDeleteDawn, I already saw them at the store you were talking about. Thanks! I wanted to buy one but my Mom already got it for me so I have to wait.
